The Art of Possibility by Benjamin Zander & Rosamund Stone Zander
This is a how-to book of an unusual kind. Unlike the genre of how-to books that offer strategies to surmount the hurdles of a competitive world and move out ahead, the objective of this book is to provide the reader the means to lift off from that world of struggle and sail into a vast universe of possibility. Our premise is that many of the circumstances that seem to block us in our daily lives may only appear to do so based on a framework of assumptions we carry with us. Draw a different frame around the same set of circumstances and new pathways come into view. Find the right framework and extraordinary accomplishment becomes an everyday experience.
The Art of Possibility
Have you read The Art of Possibility?
The Boston Globe said, “As applicable in the workplace as in an intimate relationship.”
I agree. It’s about business and art and leadership and achievement and being human.
The best version (for me) is audio because Benjamin Zander's storytelling, in his own exuberant voice, is so enticing that I hang on his every inflection.
Then Rosamund Stone Zander swoops in with her analytical frameworks.
Art and science and heart and mind. Swoon!
I tried to re-listen to it recently while painting my front door, but had to switch it off because I kept wanting to stop and take notes.
Great for the brain. Not so much for my painting.
I've listened to this book at least 3 times, and I discover something new each time. Now that it's on my mind I have a feeling I'll be listening again.
Any other fans out there?
